Directors, Officials and Staff of Abbeydale Golf Club extend a warm welcome to all visitors to the Abbeydale Golf Course.
Formed in the mid-1890's, everyone associated with Abbeydale can rightly feel proud of the outstanding club we have today.Recognised as one of the finest in the district, the course was designed by the famous architect Herbert Fowler, who was also renowned for other such designs as Walton Heath and The Berkshire. Set in 111 acres of the beautiful Beauchief Estate, it provides an absorbing challenge for golfers of all handicaps and retains some of the best views of the Derbyshire countryside to be seen anywhere in Sheffield.
The course, which won the “Toro Green keeper of the Year” award in 1998 has undergone extensive refurbishment over the last few years and is renowned for it’s manicured appearance and superb putting surfaces which characterise Fowler’s design ethos of strategy and reward. The continued improvement of our course and club house has not arisen purely by chance however. Just as in the days of our founding fathers, successive generations of Abbeydale members have given their time and energy towards the progression and success of the club. We hope you enjoy our course and look forward to seeing you for a game soon.
